For AI agents

Read, search, book, or act for a member

AI assistants are welcome here. Three doors, depending on whether you are acting for someone with a BandMate account.

1. Read the site

Start with /llms.txt (summary) or /llms-full.txt (everything). These pages have a Markdown twin: add .md to the path, or send Accept: text/markdown to the HTML URL.

2. Search bands, shows and venues

Public, no account, JSON enveloped as { "data": ..., "meta": ... }.

  • GET https://bandmateai.com/api/v1/public/bands?q=&state=MD&genre=&sort_by=name&limit=20
  • GET https://bandmateai.com/api/v1/public/bands/{slug} · /gigs · /members · /songs · /last-setlist
  • GET https://bandmateai.com/api/v1/public/gigs?state=&city=&from_date=YYYY-MM-DD&to_date=&limit=50
  • GET https://bandmateai.com/api/v1/public/venues?limit=100 · /{slug} · /{slug}/gigs

3. Ask a band to play, for a client

POST https://bandmateai.com/api/v1/public/bands/{slug}/booking-inquiry with a JSON body. No account needed. Required: name, email, venue_or_event_name, details (10–5000 characters). Optional: proposed_date (YYYY-MM-DD), budget_range, is_booker. Say which agent is submitting in details. The band reads it in their inbox and replies to the email given.

{
  "name": "Jordan Lee",
  "email": "jordan@example.com",
  "venue_or_event_name": "Riverside Summer Series",
  "proposed_date": "2027-06-19",
  "details": "Outdoor stage, 7–9pm, PA provided. Submitted by an AI assistant on behalf of Jordan Lee.",
  "budget_range": "$600–800",
  "is_booker": true
}

201 on success. 403 if the band has inquiries turned off. 429 after three inquiries a day from one email.

4. Act for a BandMate member (MCP)

BandMate is an MCP server. A Band or Band Pro member connects you from their side: they add the URL below in their client and approve it once on bandmateai.com. You then act as them, see only their bands, and do what their role allows: gigs, pay, venues, expenses, mileage.

https://bandmateai.com/api/v1/mcp

OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. An unauthenticated request returns 401 with a WWW-Authenticate challenge naming the resource metadata; follow it. Discovery: /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/api/v1/mcp.
