Everyone hears about the change
Move a service, swap a song, change a key, and every volunteer who already said yes is told automatically. Nobody learns a song in G and turns up to find it in A. This is the thing worship leaders ask incumbents for most, and it is the reason this product exists.
Schedule volunteers, get an actual answer
Ask people to serve and they confirm, decline, or mark themselves tentative. You see at a glance who has replied and who has gone quiet — instead of chasing a group chat on Saturday night.
Blockout dates
Volunteers mark the weeks they are away. When you schedule someone who is unavailable or already serving elsewhere that day, you are warned — but never blocked. If you know the bassist is back early, you can still schedule them.
Service plans
Build the order of service from your song library, with keys, tempos and running time. Share it with the whole team, and reuse last month’s plan instead of rebuilding it.
Chord charts everyone can read in their own key
Store lyrics and chords once, in ChordPro. Every volunteer can save a personal transpose, so the capo player and the horn player each see their own key off the same chart — without you maintaining five versions of the same song.
Backing tracks and click
Attach backing tracks, click tracks and stems to a song and play them straight from the service plan in the browser, on any device. Auto-advance between items, with a click at each song’s tempo.
It speaks church
Set your team up as a church and the app follows: services, not gigs. Service plans, not setlists. Volunteers, not members. Nobody is asked to translate.

Is BandMate really free for churches?

Yes. A worship team of up to 25 volunteers costs nothing — not a trial, not a discount, and no card required. Above 25 volunteers it is a flat $19 a month however large you get, whether that is 30 people or 3,000.
How is this cheaper than Planning Center?

Planning Center Services prices by how many people touch the system, on a ladder that runs $15, $32, $69, $115, $179 and $239 a month. BandMate is free to 25 volunteers and then one flat $19 a month at any size. A church scheduling 150 volunteers pays $69 a month there and $19 here. What does BandMate do that Planning Center does not?

It tells your volunteers when the plan changes. If a service moves, or a song or key is edited after someone has accepted, everyone still committed to that service is notified automatically. In Planning Center that has been a long-standing request rather than a feature, which means the person who prepared the wrong song finds out on the day.
Is this a full church management system?

No, and deliberately. BandMate covers the worship team — planning services, scheduling volunteers, and getting the music to them. It does not do giving, check-ins, groups or membership records. If you need a full ChMS, keep the one you have and use BandMate for the team.
Can we bring our songs and charts across?

Yes. Charts are stored in ChordPro, the plain-text format most worship software already imports and exports, so your existing charts are not locked in here either.
Does BandMate report our songs to CCLI?

No. BandMate keeps the record of which songs were used in which service so you can file it, but your CCLI licence is held by your church and reporting stays your responsibility — the same as it is with every other platform.
